Sample Workshop Offerings

Koru Mindfulness

Koru is a four week introduction to the practice of Mindfulness which meets for 75 minutes once per week. Mindfulness is about developing the ability to be fully attentive to all of the moments of your life, reducing the amount of time you spend worrying about the future or fretting about the past. You will learn several skills, including meditation, breathing exercises, guided imagery, the body scan and more. Each of these skills is designed to help you manage stress and enrich your life. There will be 10 minutes of required practice per day.

Laughing Meditation

Is Laughter Truly the Best Medicine? A good laugh moves energy, gets the heart beating and is sure to bring a smile to your face. Laughter can also create a feeling of calm and centeredness. Take all that is bothering you and set it aside as you laugh the time away in this fun, interactive, hour long class. 

Massage 101

Learn the basics of giving a simple backrub for treating the back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. Focus will be on correct use of your body, basic precautions, and specific techniques. You will give and receive a short seated backrub. Classes run from 60 to 90 minutes. 

Mindful Eating

Mindful eating employs all five senses allowing you to be truly present and aware while you eat. We slow down and smell, view and taste each bite. Join us while we discuss –and then experience, eating mindfully. Classes run from 30 to 60 minutes.

Mini Meditations and Chair Yoga

A 30 minute combination of chair yoga, short meditations and breathing exercises, this workshop gives you a sampling of ways to unplug and recharge. Great to add to a standing meeting or gathering.

Yoga at Your Desk

Simple exercises and stretches you can do at your desk to refresh, relax, rejuvenate, stay focused, decrease muscle fatigue, improve posture, and get a good chuckle! Classes run from 30 to 60 minutes. 

A Better Night's Sleep

Sleep deprivation can not only have a detrimental affect on one's ability to focus, it also negatively effects mood, hunger/appetite, and stress levels. In this program, participants will learn about obstacles they might face to getting a good night's sleep. This program offers tips and tools for achieving better sleep and will answer any questions that may come up along the way. This workshop is approximatey 60 minutes. 

Sexual Health 101

This workshop covers sexual health information including safer sex practices that decrease STI risk, contraceptive options, as well as how to access relevant services through Harvard University Health Services. Sexual Health 101 emphasizes the diversity of experiences surrounding sex and sexuality, and the importance of clear and open communication. It aims to ensure that students are equipped with the information they need to make happy and healthy choices for themselves, whenever they feel the time is right for them. This workshop runs about 60 minutes.
