Physical Activity

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, with at least two days of muscle-strengthening activity.
There are many resources both on and off campus to support a wide variety of physical activities. Use the information on this page to learn more about resources you have available to you.
CWHP offers both in-person and virtual physical activity classes!
RESOURCES
CrimsonZip
CrimsonZip is a mobile application built to support connection and community at Harvard. Specifically designed for the Harvard community (and protected by HarvardKey), CrimsonZip makes it easy to find other people and groups from around campus interested in similar activities. To see a brief 2-minute demo of CrimsonZip, check it out at www.crimsonzip.org.
Within CrimsonZip users can find events that match their interests, join groups hosting events they want to attend (like a house, entryway, department, etc.), and express interest in events when they want to receive updates! You can also create your OWN groups on CrimsonZip if you can’t find the community you’re looking for!
CrimsonZip is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store right now, and you can also access it through any web browser at app.crimsonzip.org!
Harvard Recreation
All undergraduates have free access to gym facilities and group fitness classes. Other affiliates may have to pay a small fee to access recreation facilities. Learn more about membership information.
Did you know Harvard Rec also offers free equipment orientations for all members? As well as great deals on personal training and small group training? Whether you’re new to the gym or just looking to revamp your routine, these are great resources to support you!
Sign up for the Harvard Recreation newsletter to stay up to date on upcoming events, and if you want an easier way to access facility hours, class schedules, and more, simply download the Harvard Recreation mobile application.
